Meet Holly

Dr Holly Bemrose is a Clinical Psychologist and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioner who specialises in working with children, young people and their families with a wide range of difficulties and challenges. She has experience of working within the NHS in both outpatient and hospital settings, as well as working within the private sector.

After qualifying, she worked for several years in a national children's unit for children up to 13 years of age in London. In this service, Holly worked with children and their families, who were currently struggling with complex emotional, social and neurodevelopmental difficulties and provided comprehensive assessment and treatment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. After recently relocating back to West Yorkshire, she is currently spending some of her time working in an Autism Assessment Service.

With a Doctorate (DClinPsy) in Clinical Psychology from Royal Holloway University, a Master's (MSc) in Early Intervention in Psychosis and an Undergraduate Degree (BSc) in Psychology, Holly is trained in conducting a wide range of comprehensive assessments and talking therapies. This includes undertaking neurodevelopment and cognitive assessments. In her clinical work, she uses evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) alongside ideas from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative and Systemic approaches. She is a published author in peer-reviewed papers and has experience in supervising the clinical work and research projects of aspiring psychologists.
 

Holly has always had a passion for Clinical Psychology and research and is driven to work to a high standard, demonstrated by receiving awards for high achievement, research ability and receiving the 'Mary Mackinnon' Prize for obtaining the highest mark in her cohort during her undergraduate Psychology degree. Holly aims to work collaboratively with young people and their families to support them in making sense of their experiences and challenges, and help them move towards change by identifying solutions and strategies to manage these. Her approach is flexible and integrative, tailoring therapy to the individuals unique needs and goals. Holly aims to support young people and their families in a client-centered way, empowering them to thrive and reach their full potential.
